What is SPILLLS?

SPILLLS is a compact, refillable soap dispenser – no larger than an AirPods case – that releases biodegradable soap pills at the push of a button. It’s designed for people constantly on the move who want hygiene without hassle. No plastic guilt, no leaky bottles, no TSA restrictions. Just clean hands – anytime, anywhere.

What problem are we solving?

In a world where we touch hundreds of surfaces every day – from public door handles to our smartphones – hand hygiene is more essential than ever. And yet, 57% of users in Germany regularly encounter a lack of soap in public toilets. Only 41% of people say they wash their hands properly in public spaces. Despite all the awareness raised during the pandemic, access to proper hygiene remains unreliable.

Traditional soap formats don’t fit modern lifestyles:

• Bar soap is messy and unhygienic.

• Liquid bottles leak, take up space, and exceed airport restrictions.

• Wipes are wasteful and often ineffective.

• Most refill systems are bulky, incompatible, or not designed for travel.

There is currently no product that combines cleanliness, portability, and sustainability in one. SPILLLS fills this gap.

• Refills: Packs of 100 biodegradable soap pills for 5.99€, available as one-time purchase or through convenient subscriptions

What will we do with your support?

We are currently finalizing our MVP based on user feedback collected from over 100+ early adopters through surveys and interviews. Your contributions will help us:

1. Finalize the first production-ready SPILLLS dispenser

2. Develop the first test batch of biodegradable soap pills

3. Launch our first small-scale production run

4. Build out our branding, packaging, and online shop

5. Prepare for larger B2C sales and potential B2B collaborations (gyms, coworking spaces, travel retailers)

Where are we today?

We are currently in the product refinement and testing phase. The physical prototype and dispenser concept are ready and being adapted based on feedback. The MVP website is online and we are engaging in early community building to better understand the desires of our core users. Production will be done through external partners with sustainable sourcing standards.

What do we need to bring SPILLLS to life?

SPILLLS was born from a simple yet frustrating question: Why is it still so hard to wash your hands properly when you're not at home?

We’ve identified a real need, validated it with surveys and early user feedback, and developed a strong concept with massive potential – but to turn it into a real, functioning product, we now need your support.

This crowdfunding campaign will help us take SPILLLS from a validated idea to a fully developed product. Here’s how your contributions will be used:

1. Product Development & Prototyping
Before we move into production, we need to finalize the technical design of the dispenser and validate the soap pill mechanism. This includes:

• 3D prototyping

• Engineering support for refillable mechanism

• Testing materials for durability and portability

• Creating lab-tested refill formulas (skin-friendly, biodegradable)

Estimated cost: ~3,000–5,000 €

2. Legal & Intellectual Property Protection
To protect the innovation behind SPILLLS, we’re currently preparing a design patent and exploring technical patent registration. This step is essential before we go public with the final design.

3. Branding & Visual Identity
SPILLLS is more than just a product – it's a future lifestyle brand. To reach our audience and build emotional connection, we’ll invest in:

• Visual branding (logo, color system, fonts)

• Packaging concepts (eco materials, refill formats)

• Photoshoots, motion content, and copywriting

• MVP landing page design and product storytelling

4. Manufacturing Preparation & Sourcing
Once the prototype is finalized, we’ll begin discussions with manufacturers to evaluate:

• Mould creation and tooling

• Sustainable suppliers for refills and containers

• Packaging partners (e.g. compostable foil, FSC-certified paper)

5. Community Building & Testing
We don’t want to launch SPILLLS behind closed doors – we want it to grow with our future users. A portion of the funds will go toward:

• Organizing test panels and product testers

• Hosting early feedback rounds

• Building an email list and MVP pre-order page

• Preparing co-creation formats with Gen Z and family households

6. Campaign Fulfillment & Symbolic Rewards
If you choose one of our symbolic rewards, part of your contribution will go into producing and shipping your exclusive early supporter packs. We want to make sure your reward feels meaningful, sustainable, and well-designed.

In total, we are raising a minimum of €15,000 to cover the above development steps.
